The Earl Faolan (FAY-lawn) O’Callaghan
Meaning: “The red wolf”
A man of wealth and means, Faolan is the founder of the
mysterious Society of the Scarlet Butterfly. His motivations
underlying the formation of the Society and his curious
connection to the Faerie realm are known perhaps only to himself.
Though enigmatic and often arrogant, he seems to genuinely care
for Keeley.

“Handsome and fair one”
Possessed with the power to see soul-spirits and still
haunted by the death of his family, Keeley finds unexpected
comfort in the Earl’s arms and agrees to become a member of
the Society—though not without his reservations. His aloof
and quiet behavior hides a stubborn nature and quick temper.

As Faolan’s valet and most loyal servant, Rian runs the Earl’s
household and anticipates all his needs—except if he has slipped
away somewhere to be with Larkin. Though he has been in the Earl’s
service for several years, he is actually no older than Keeley and
holds a sorted past.
